Sole Hope – Shoes that change lives

If you are like most Americans, you have a nice home, two cars, and a closet full of shoes.  While we are blessed, we are always reminded that there are children beginning their day with barely enough to wear, no clean water, and NO SHOES.  Now you have a chance to change a life. You’re invited to party with a purpose.  Shoe-cutting parties recycle old blue jeans into shoe uppers.  Shipped to Africa, the uppers are sewn and attached to soles made from locally recycled tires.  Local tailors and shoemakers very carefully craft the Sole Hope shoes that are given out at medical clinics.  The journey to a new life begins with you, a pair of scissors, and friends.  We will join together as a congregation to CHANGE LIVES this Sunday, October 4th as we host our very own Shoe-cutting party at First Lutheran.  Join us in the East ½ Fellowship Hall from 9-11:30am.  Supplies are provided, but if you have a pair of old jeans sitting around at home, bring them that morning.  Kits will also be available to take home and return to church at another time.  We will be accepting donations of $10 to help with the shipping.  Join us for SOLE...

We hope to have six total volunteers for Wednesday evening and four additional volunteers for Sunday at 11:00am. If you can help, please email Pastor Kari. Thank...
