Would You be Willing to be a Friendly Visitor? For many years First Lutheran has had a valuable ministry of visiting members for whom it has become difficult to get to church. The visits take place in private homes as well as at care facilities and independent living apartments. Our goal is to revitalize this important outreach, but to do that we will need a positive response from members like you. Who can be a Friendly Visitor? Anyone age 21 years or older. We are seeking people who would be willing to be a friendly visitor to one or two members. The visits are typically a half hour to an hour in length and are done about once a month according to your schedule. Visits can simply be a time of conversation, but we are also seeking people who would be willing to bring communion on such a visit. We provide training and an opportunity to feel comfortable doing this kind of ministry. If you have questions and would like to learn more or would be willing to help out, please call Terri Lee, our Volunteer Coordinator, or one of the pastors at 762-2196. The Friendly Visitor Board which meets monthly and coordinates this ministry is also looking for a few people who would be willing to assist on the board. To find out more about the work of the board, or to volunteer, call Terri.
