Good Coffee for a Good Cause.

Our Lutheran World Relief coffee project makes it possible for us to enjoy coffee and teas. Through the project farmers in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and U.S. earn a fair price for their products called “Equal Exchange.” These farmers can support themselves and in return help their communities with education, health care, and agricultural improvements.

The money we receive for our coffee sales goes right back to the farmers and the profit we make all goes to help Maasi girls from Africa attend Concordia College in Moorhead.

We'd love to have you stop by our “coffee table” on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. We're located in the west narthex. Coffee is $8.00 per bag (or 2 bags for $15), and tea is $4.00.

God gives all people the capacity to work for the common good.

Athletic Shoe Drive ...

Did You Know …Athletic shoes are recyclable? They are - through Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program. Every year millions of pairs of athletic shoes are thrown away, clogging landfills and wasting useable materials. Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program helps to alleviate that waste by recycling the materials and repurposing them for projects like new court and playground surfaces.

First Lutheran will be collecting all brands of athletic shoes during the months of August and September. So as you buy new shoes for school and fall sports, please bring your old ones to the church to be recycled. Drop boxes will be located near the East and West doorways. Please follow these shoe recycling requirements:

We can only recycle athletic shoes
(such as running shoes, sneakers, etc.)

 ~ No shoes containing metal ~

~ No cleats or dress shoes ~

~ No wet or damp shoes ~

Every pair makes a difference. Let your worn out shoes play on!
