Call Committee Update

Thank you for taking time to complete the Ministry Needs Feedback Survey. There were 148 surveys completed. The top five areas that were identified include: visitation and pastoral care, family and young adult ministry, preaching and worship leadership, teaching, and building a sense of community within the church. In addition, a number of comments were shared and they will be considered as we continue the call process.

The Call Committee has begun the process of creating a call for the position of Associate Pastor. We invite the congregation to submit names of ordained ELCA pastors to the committee. If you wish to submit a name(s) to the committee, please include the persons first and last name and the church they are currently serving at. If you are unable to submit a name directly to a committee member, please send or deliver a sealed envelope containing the information above to the church office. The envelope submitted must be marked with the words “Call Committee.” If you can only provide a name, please include any additional information that will be helpful in locating the individual. Please submit names by February 29th.

We will carefully, thoroughly and prayerfully consider each and every name given to us. Due to confidentiality requirements in the call process, we will not be able to divulge information concerning a candidate’s status. We appreciate your cooperation in this regard.

If you have questions or feedback for the committee, please don’t hesitate to connect with one of the members. They will be wearing special buttons to assist you in identifying them.

Call Committee Members: Pastor Greg Billberg, Greg Trumm – Chairman, Wayne Quernemoen – Secretary, Sally Anderson, Jo Bjerknes, Eric Nyberg, Paula Odland, and Jen Sundby

Thanks to Burpee, First Lutheran Church has a bounty of seeds available for spring planting.

There are dozens of packages: vegetable, melon, flower and herb seeds.   An order form with all seed types listed is available at the Welcome Center, or you may download an order form .   Include your name and indicate the seeds you would like. Orders will be filled weekly and left in a display near the Welcome Center to pick up.   We suggest a contribution of 25 cents per package.  The proceeds will be used to purchase onion sets, seed potatoes, fertilizer and other supplies for the church garden, which is on the church property, located on County Road 46.  For some types there are dozens of packages and others just a few, so please understand that another variety may need to be substituted on your order.   You are encouraged to share any bounty.
