Are you a Gardener or a Gardener “Wannabee”?

The Community Garden on the church land needs your help!  Could you or your family “ADOPT” a week or more in the garden?

The purpose of the garden is to provide produce to people in need through the United Way.  THRIVENT is contributing monetary support for garden supplies.  BUT to qualify for this money, a list of everyone who helps in the garden needs to be reported.  SO if you have already helped plant, weed, water or harvest, please let Paul Thompson or Craig Smith know.  IF you haven’t yet helped and would like to, but need more direction on pulling weeds, watering and harvesting, please call Paul at 763-5017 or Craig at 763-5953.  Paul or Craig will tell you what you need to know, or will arrange to meet you at the garden and show you what needs to be done.  The garden could be an overwhelming job for a few people, but with MANY people the task becomes small allowing the garden ministry to be limitless!  We’re in the final stretch … the produce is ready… won’t you find the time to help?  Let’s all do our part to make this an annual garden!

ON the TRAIL with FIRST LUTHERAN

First is sponsoring a special BIKE EVENT Sunday, August 1st.  All interested bikers, families, couples, and friends of ALL AGES are invited to meet at Big Ole at 9:00 am on that Sunday morning.   Bring your bike, helmet, water, and sunscreen and come ready for a great morning.  In preparation also be sure to check the air in your tires.  We will head out on the bike trail and provide a refreshment stop for our group along the way, and then will return to City Park by 11:00 for a blessing of the bikes and bikers.  The blessing will happen at the beginning of the 11:00 worship service.  This is our first event like this; your feed back or ideas concerning future bike events would be appreciated.
